I am naturally a hopeful and optimistic person. I believe things in our life and society generally change for the better as life goes on no matter what happens. This first movement of the piece illustrates exactly that and how I feel about the idea of hope. It has its twist and turns, and sometimes may be a bit ambiguous, but the melody and harmony of the piece should leave you with a feeling of hope. Hope that life will only get better and that we as a species can continue to improve from who are in the present.
